Upon arrival, we will check into the hotel and depart for a tour of Leticia. During the tour, the guide will explain how the city of Leticia was built; you will also learn about the customs of the local people, the city’s economy, and its close ties with other border cities. (Approximate duration: 2 hours).

After breakfast, we’ll embark on one of the most exciting excursions in the Amazon. The tour takes you along the mighty Amazon River, where you can appreciate and admire the diverse ecosystems and the life that thrives along the river. During the first part of this excursion, you’ll visit a reserve where you can see the world’s largest lotus flower (approximately 40 minutes). Next, we’ll head to Monkey Island, the perfect place to enjoy the impressive and fascinating flora and fauna while exploring hidden waterways through the rainforest (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes). Further upriver, we’ll visit an indigenous community in Macedonia: the Tikuna tribe! This is the perfect place to admire the handicrafts designed and made by the local people (approximately 1 hour).
After visiting Macedonia, our next stop is Puerto Nariño and Lake Tarapotos. Puerto Nariño is a small town 87 kilometers from Leticia, at the mouth of the Loretoyaco River, where it meets the Amazon River. We will have lunch here (which is not included in the price).
After lunch, enjoy a pleasant walk through the town with a local guide. With them, you can visit Lake Tarapotos, just a 5-minute boat ride from Puerto Nariño, and perhaps even see dolphins!
Our tour concludes in Puerto Alegría, a small town on the border with Peru, whose inhabitants make their living from fishing and tourism. Here, visitors can observe and take photos with local wildlife such as Matamata turtles, monkeys, sloths, and macaws (approximate duration: 1 hour 30 minutes).
In the late afternoon, we return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
After breakfast, we depart for the Tanimboca Reserve, located 11 kilometers from Leticia by taxi (approximately 10 minutes). Here, we’ll explore the reserve from the treetops on a zip-line system that allows you to glide from tree to tree, 35 meters above the ground. Standing high in the trees lets you experience the beauty of the rainforest. Afterward, we’ll take a walking tour through the Tanimboca Reserve, including a visit to its serpentarium. In the late afternoon, we return to the hotel to rest.
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the airport for our flight to Bogota and then on to your home country.
