Lost City is one of the most important archeological parks in Colombia. It is located in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta at 1.200 meters above sea level. Pick you up at the hotel early to start our 5 days tour. In this wonderful adventure, you will be able to enjoy during the whole tour of the rivers, waterfalls and swimming pools that nature gives us; during the tours, there are breaks to contemplate the landscape, hydrate and eat fresh fruits and at night in each camp the guide makes integrations with his group to give a little information.When we pick you up at the hotel we leave for Mamey by jeep (approx. 3 hours). Upon arrival at Mamey, an integration is made and lunch is served. The trekking of Machete begins towards the first cabin “Adan or Alfredo”. During the tour we have natural swimming pools offered by the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and in which we will take a refreshing bath, which will make it more pleasant to continue the walk, which is about 4 to 5 hours.
Breakfast around 6:00 am to start the trekking at 8:00 am. from the first “Adam or Alfredo” cabin to the third “Paraiso Teyuna” cabin. During this tour, we will pass through the indigenous town of the Kogui “Mutanyi” ethnic group, where we will get some information about the community. The walking time of this day is approximately 8 to 9 hours (14 km).
The hike begins at 7:00 a.m., after breakfast, departing from “Paraíso Teyuna” towards Ciudad Perdida (Lost City), a journey of approximately 1 hour. Upon arrival, you will explore the archaeological area and spend approximately 3 hours visiting and learning about this magical place, accompanied by expert guides. After the tour of the Archaeological Park, you will begin the descent back to “Paraíso Teyuna” for lunch and then continue the hike to the second cabin, “Mumake or Tezumake,” where you will spend the third night.
Breakfast, early departure from the second cabin, “Mumake or Tezumake,” to the first cabin, “Adán or Alfredo,” a journey of approximately 4 to 5 hours (7 km). Here you will spend the fourth night and can enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pools.
Breakfast, then the return journey begins from the first cabin, “Adán or Alfredo,” to El Mamey. The journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours. Upon arrival at El Mamey, you will enjoy a delicious lunch before beginning the return trip to Santa Marta, where this wonderful adventure will conclude.
