A lot of culture and traditions are the experiences that we will take with us from these magical places in Colombia. The Tatacoa Desert is impressive with its arid landscape and its rocky forms. San Agustín is the most important archaeological area in Colombia and Popayán will enchant you with its religious culture and traditions.
Day 1 – NEIVA
Arrival at Neiva Airport – Welcome from our representative – Transfer to the hotel in Villavieja.
At 2:30 in the afternoon, we began our journey towards the Tatacoa Desert in Cusco, it is the part with the greatest reddish color and greatest geomorphology in the area.
We will walk around the area where we will visit the cathedrals, the tower and the wishing tree. Finishing this path, we move on to Los Hoyos and the Xipalos Valley and we finish our visit by forming an altar in the Valley of Dreams, which symbolizes the pact of love and protection with nature and the world around us.
As night falls we will have a talk at the Astronomical Observatory. Back to the hotel.
Day 2 – ARRIVAL IN SAN AGUSTÍN
Very early we begin the trip to San Agustín, 5 hours away, where you can stop to take photos and enjoy the landscape.
After checking in at the hotel, we enter the Museum and Archaeological Park and walk along its trails to observe the sacred vestiges of our tribes. These are scattered throughout the forest. We have Mesita A, B, C, the Alto del Lavapatas and the Forest of statues. The San Agustín Archaeological Park is a World Heritage Site.
Day 3 – NATURE AND ARCHEOLOGY
This day we will start with the tour to the south, where we have very well-preserved natural and archaeological sites such as the Salto de Bordones, the Alto de los Ídolos Archaeological Park and the Stones, ending at the strait of the Magdalena River.
We will enjoy a delicious lunch in a very rural and traditional place where we will take a break to return to the hotel in the afternoon.
Day 4 – POPAYÁN
Very early we set out on our way to Popayán, a 4-hour trip. After a well-deserved rest and lunch, we will take the City Tours throughout the historic center of the city. We will get to know the most important museums as well as all the history and religious demonstrations of the area.
We conclude the tour along the Humilladero bridge and a delicious gastronomic tasting.
Day 5 – FAREWELL TO POPAYÁN
We pick you up at the hotel at 8:00 in the morning to take you to the Popayán Airport to take the plane to your next destination.
