SUSTAINABLE DESTINATIONS

With the passage of time, tourist destinations are preparing more each day to offer the best services to their visitors, and in Colombia it is no exception, as some standards have been implemented to achieve one of the most important certifications in tourism, and that of sustainable destination certification. Here are some of these destinations:

 

CAÑO CRISTALES

Known as the river of 5 colors, it is located in the department of Meta and is considered the most beautiful river in the world. Thanks to its community tourism model, it has become an example for other destinations, also for its management of the flora and fauna of the place for its conservation. There are several agencies authorized to carry out excursions of a minimum of 3 days and it can only be visited in certain seasons between July and December, the Macarenia Clavigera is the plant in charge of giving it these particular colors.

Located in the municipality of Villavieja in Huila, it is one of the most visited destinations, the starlight certification recognizes the Tatacoa desert as an important place for observation and astronomical tourism. This certification accredits those places that have excellent quality in their skies, which are an example of conservation.

 

SANTA ROSA DE CABAL

It is one of the most visited destinations in the eje cafetero, its beautiful waterfalls and hot springs make this place unique for nature and wellness tourism. Its tourism model allows the development of the local community and economic growth.

 

MOMPOX

 

 

Located in the department of Bolívar, Mompox was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site by Unesco and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism granted it certification as a sustainable destination, which guarantees its tourists the confidence of being able to enjoy its best places and its historical center. This offers the conservation of cultural heritage.

 

CARTAGENA DE INDIAS

 

 

One of the most visited and known destinations in Colombia, its historic center was declared a World Heritage Site with a certificate in sustainable tourism, it develops different environmental, socio-cultural and economic programs that contribute to preserving and promoting local heritage.
