Enjoy the Wayuu culture in all its magnitude, the wonder of seeing how the desert is little by little with the sea and the diversity you can find in La Guajira.

DAY 1: SANTA MARTA / RIOHACHA / MANAURE / CABO DE LA VELA

 

Departure from 4.00 a.m. at 4:30 a.m from your hotel in a tour vehicle, we will make a 3-hour road through Palomino and Riohacha. We will enjoy a typical breakfast in Palomino or Riohacha.

We will continue with the tour for 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately from Riohacha to Uribia, Panoramic tour of Uribia.Tour of about 20 minutes to Manaure where we will see the process of collecting the salt and will received a technical talk of the place.

Transfer through the desert of Auyama, San Martin or Puerto Bolívar depending on the weather conditions to Cabo de la Vela.Lunch at Posada Wayuu.Free time at Cabo de la Vela.Visit the Pilón de Azúcar, to enjoy the sea and do a short walk of 20 minutes (optional).

Visit the Lighthouse, to observe a wonderful sunset.Dinner at Inn Wayuu.Night in bed in ranchería (Wayuu typical accomodation).

DAY 2: CABO DE LA VELA / RIOHACHA / SANTA MARTA

 

Breakfast between 7:00 a.m. and 8 a.m. Departure from Cabo at 9:30 a.m. approximately.Travel by car to Riohacha for a duration of approximately 3 hours.

Lunch in Riohacha. Panoramic tour and free time to walk along the boardwalk, visit the cathedral

¿Por qué hacer este viaje?
  • Conocerás Riohacha, que se encuentra frente al Mar Caribe y al lado del desierto, es la puerta de entrada para conocer la península de La Guajira,es el departamento más septentrional de Colombia.
  • Recorrerás Manaure donde se conocerá el proceso de la recolección de la sal y recibirás una charla técnica del lugar.
  • Disfrutarás del Cabo de la vela,  ubicado en la península de La Guajira, es un terreno desértico habitado en su mayor parte por el pueblo indígena wayú.
  • Visitarás el Pilón de Azúcar para disfrutar del mar y hacer una pequeña caminata de 20 minutos.
  • Podrás caminar por el malecón, visitar la catedral, los parques Nicolás de Federmann, José Prudencio Padilla y comprar artesanías.
